Roth Industries still has apprenticeship places for 2021

10/02/2021

Every year, Roth Industries offers 25 new training places. The offering covers business, technical and commercial professions for apprentices, one-year trainees and students on the “Studium Plus” scheme. Roth is still seeking seven trainees for the start of training this year for the job profiles of warehouse operator, cutting machine operator and process mechanic. Training places are still available for 2022 in all the professions at the family-owned company.

"Despite the Corona situation, we are interested in assigning our usual number of apprenticeships. We continually adapt our training to the situation", explained Michael Donges, Head of HR at Roth. Therefore, we currently have two teams working staggered shifts in the training workshop. The trainees can also work at home to prepare for their practical work. Hartmut Heck, head of the central training workshop, provides them with tasks to help them prepare and also deepen their theoretical knowledge. "In spite of the Corona situation, our trainees are given the supervision they need, but of course we hope that the situation is much more relaxed when the new trainees start in summer", emphasised Hartmut Heck.

The right mix of theory and practice
The company currently has a total of around 80 apprentices, one-year trainees and “Studium Plus” students taking part in its training programmes. The industrial apprentices receive intensive theoretical and practical teaching at Roth Industries’ own training workshop. These skills equip them for the challenges of day-to-day working life at an industrial company. The management apprentices follow an in-house training plan in the business management departments, where the emphasis is on practical knowledge. Their training is rounded off by in-house teaching covering the subjects taught at vocational college and preparing them for intermediate and final exams. This is currently being done from a safe distance in virtual rooms due to the Corona situation. If they do well, the apprentices have the option of completing part of their training at a Roth company abroad.
The trainee quota of about 10% at the family-owned company is above average. Apprenticeships with many opportunities for continuing professional development are offered at Roth Werke in Buchenau, at Roth Composite Machinery in Niedereisenhausen, Burgwald and Dautphe, at Roth Hydraulics in Eckelshausen and at Roth Plastic Technology in Wolfgruben.
