Roth Plastic Technology successfully recertified according to IATF 16949 - Meets quality requirements of the automotive industry
"The successful certification as a supplier for the automotive industry underpins the outstanding quality of our systems, processes and services. Despite the restrictions in the wake of the Corona pandemic, we are a reliable partner for our customers and have been able to secure future-oriented new orders from the automotive industry," emphasises Sebastian Herrmann, Managing Director of Roth Plastic Technology. In 2018, the company completed the transition audit to IATF 16949, replacing the ISO/TS 16949:2009 certification that had been in place since 2011.
The IATF places significantly higher requirements on suppliers to the automotive industry. The focus is on increasing customer satisfaction, avoiding errors and risks in the production process and in the supply chain, and also improving system and process quality at the suppliers. For the first audit according to the IATF standard, Roth Plastic Technology had already closely examined the company processes in advance and made the necessary adjustments. The manufacturer optimised existing procedures and introduced new processes.
Automotive industry expects sustainability
"In addition, the requirements of the automotive industry for sustainable production processes at its suppliers are constantly increasing. We, too, attach great importance to environmental protection and pursue ambitious environmental goals, which is why we have been producing in a climate-neutral manner since 2017. In addition to CO2 balancing for our own products, we also carry out balancing for the automotive supply industry in the acquisition process. In this way, we contribute to the transparency of emissions and can identify potential for improvement," says Sebastian Herrmann.
Plastics competence from a single source
Roth Plastic Technology supplies the leading automobile manufacturers with series-produced plastic components manufactured by injection moulding. These include engine covers, media-carrying components, articles for mirror systems, add-on parts for front and rear bumpers as well as structural components. The manufacturer also produces products using the multi-component process from different thermoplastics, some with additives, masterbatch (colour granulate) and glass fibres, which meet the application requirements in the automobile. Roth Plastic Technology assembles entire assemblies and procures the necessary purchased parts for them if required. In addition, the company masters the preparation of plastic articles for painting processes and manufactures products with sophisticated, grained or structured surfaces - depending on customer requirements.
The manufacturer has decades of experience in the processing of plastics as well as thermoplastics and underpins its quality and technology standards with certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. In addition, Roth Plastic Technology is certified for its environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015-11 and has been certified according to EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) since 2010.
