13/11/2018

Roth Plastic Technology in Dautphetal-Wolfgruben has successfully passed the audit in accordance with IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force). The plastic products manufacturer therefore fulfils the high quality requirements it is subject to as a supplier for the automobile industry.

Roth Plastic Technology has been certified to ISO/TS 16949:2009 since 2011. In September 2018, this quality standard was replaced by the IATF 16949, which is now in force. “The successful certification to the updated standard reinforces the high quality of our systems, processes and services. We continue to be one of the best and most reliable partners for the automobile sector,” emphasises Sebastian Herrmann, Manager of Roth Plastic Technology. The manufacturer had taken a close look at the company’s processes in advance and made the necessary adjustments before the audit. Roth optimised existing processes and introduced new ones. Placing the customer at the centre of business activities is an integral part of Roth's corporate principles. Sebastian Herrmann continues to say that “as a reliable partner, we want to take account of changing customer requirements”.

More stringent requirements
The IATF 16949 presents significantly tougher requirements for suppliers for the automobile industry. The focus is on increasing customer satisfaction, avoiding errors and risks in the production process and the supply chain and improving system and process quality with suppliers.

Plastics expertise from a single source
Roth Plastic Technology supplies leading automobile manufacturers with series components made of plastic by a process of injection moulding. These include engine covers, media-carrying components, articles for mirror systems, add-on parts for front and rear bumpers and structural components. The manufacturer also produces products in a multi-component process using various thermoplastics, partly with additives, masterbatch (colour granulate) and glass fibres which correspond to the application requirements in the automotive industry. Roth Plastic Technology puts together entire assemblies and procures the necessary purchased parts if required. The company also specialises in preparing plastic articles for painting processes and manufactures products with demanding, grained or structured surfaces, depending on customer requirements. The manufacturer has decades of experience in processing plastics and thermoplastics and is reinforcing its quality and technological capability with certification to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. In addition, Roth Plastic Technology’s environmental management system is certified to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015-11 and since 2010 to EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). The company has been manufacturing climate-neutrally since 2017.
